It has now been seven weeks that we have been in isolation due to the COVID – 19 Pandemic. The State of PA is looking to start phase one to open up some businesses on May 8th. This will be a slow process, but we will be gradually going into a new normal. I wanted to share a motivational quote from one of my favorite Sharks, Lori Greiner. "When you are stuck in a situation, try to make the best of it. Don't let it take you down. Instead, turn it around and empower yourself to do the things you can to make it better. The power is within you to be creative, to kickstart, to take all the ideas you have and start applying them. Just take that first step and your creativity will start to flow! The only thing we know for sure is that if you do nothing, nothing's going to happen- so start thinking and creating. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain." With that said, many organizations and entrepreneurs are doing just that. Finding ways to give back to the community during this difficult time.
As I continue to practice Self-care in my home, I always reach out to companies that follow my passions. For those that know me you are aware that I love to cook and bake. Now that we are all home the single most asked question I get from my kids is “What’s for dinner?” I have the privilege of knowing Suzanne Young, Independent Advanced Director at Pampered Chef. Pampered Chef is a multinational multilevel marketing company that offers a line of kitchen tools, food products, and cookbooks. For the foodies out there like myself, Pampered Chef has been around for years well known for doing in house cooking demonstrations but now in 2020 they have learned to change things up a bit. Suzanne recently invited me to a Facebook Feeding America Fundraising Fun - April 2020 Event. With the cost of groceries rising, school closures and the fact that many people are out of work we need organizations like Feeding America to help with supporting local food pantries in our area. Pampered Chef has partnered with Feed America since 1991. They have raised over $27M since then. Suzanne and her team are doing their part by sponsoring a Fundraiser for the month of April. Up to 30% of their sales goes to Feeding America. Suzanne and her team have made the Facebook event very interactive by sharing recipes, playing games like COOKING BINGO and having fun facts for the day. We all need this type of entertainment and engagement to get us through our day and at the same time we are helping feed thousands of families.
