How to Win New Business

I recently read a great article in Entrepreneur that asked six entrepreneurs what they do to attract and win new customers in today's environment.  This is what they had to say:

  1. Borrow Trust – post pandemic companies are wanting to spend money with those they know and trust. Well if you are going to try to get new business how do you do that? A new strategy that is being used today is influencer marketing.  This is a form of social media marketing involving endorsements and product placement from influences, people and organizations who have an expert level of knowledge or social influence in their field
  1. Turn down the noise – many organizations felt that they needed to lower their prices to earn business, instead consider pushing brand awareness marketing by using YouTube to take your brand story on a video format. This will result in brand awareness and more sales conversions.
  1. Let them decide – since many organizations on selling products and services on line more than ever it is important to give your customers a more flexible way of returning or changing there mind on your product service.  Why not extend your 30 day money back guarantee to 60 days?  Try to earn their trust.
  1. Keep it simple – I strongly agree with this one.  Deliver a unique solution to common pain or frustrations that people may be having.
  1. Ditch discounts – trying to convert a new customer without offering them discounts, this may start the relationship off on the wrong foot. Loyalty and trust are more important.
  1. Listen up – it is important that you listen to your clients, understand their pain points. A good salesperson spends 20% of their time talking to the clients and 80% listening.  Listen to see how your product/service can help them.
